CRSB receives $1.1 million to support  the Certified Sutainable Beef Framework

At the Calgary Stampede, Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau announced an investment of $8.3 million in support of the Canadian Beef industry for a total of six projects through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership.

CRSB is pleased to be among the recipients of this investment, with $1.1 million under the government's AgriAssurance Program to enhance and support development and implementation of the Certified Sustainable Beef Framework that will enhance public trust for Canadian Beef.

The Verified Beef Production Plus Program also received funding to help enhance training and tools to support producers in providing assurances to consumers about sustainable beef production.

CRSB Chair Anne Wasko was pleased to speak on behalf of the beef industry during the announcement, which took place next to CRSB's booth in the Cattle Trail.

Harvey's makes beef sustainability sourcing commitment

CRSB is pleased to report that Harvey's Restaurants is now sourcing a portion of the beef for their Original Burger from CRSB Certified farms and ranches. The announcement was made on June 10, 2019 through a TV commercial, which aired during the NBA finals, reaching a potential 15.9 million Canadians who tuned in to watch the Raptors. The ads ran throughout June and July.  Click the image below to watch it!

“We are thrilled to partner with Harvey’s and support their sustainable sourcing efforts,”says Anne Wasko, Chair of the CRSB. “The momentum is building and we look forward to seeing the CRSB Certified Mark on many beef products across the food sector in the years to come.”
