Ducks Unlimited Canada CEO Karla Guyn to speak at Canadian Beef Industry Conference

Calgary, AB – The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB) is pleased to have Dr. Karla Guyn, CEO of Ducks Unlimited Canada, speaking at the CRSB meeting at the Canadian Beef Industry Conference this August.

Dr. Guyn is one of Canada’s leading conservationists. As Chief Executive Officer for Ducks Unlimited Canada, she leads more than 400 staff across the country to deliver on-the-ground habitat conservation, research, education and public policy efforts. Her more than 20 years of experience have seen her travel across North America in pursuit of wetland and waterfowl conservation, developing strong partnerships with landowners, industry groups and governments. Her passion for the outdoors was instilled at an early age, born from the time spent at her grandparents’ ranch in southwestern Alberta. Still today, Karla feels most at home amid the rolling grasslands and lush wetlands of the Canadian Prairies.

For decades, Canadian cattle producers have made conservation part of their operations. Today, these efforts to conserve wetlands and grasslands are setting new standards for sustainability in working landscapes. Dr. Guyn is keen to share this success story at CRSB’s meeting on Wednesday August 14, with a presentation entitled “Conservation finds a home on the range: What Canada can learn about environmental sustainability from the beef industry.”

We invite you to join us for this special event as well as the CRSB council meeting to follow, which is open to all. If you have not already registered for the Canadian Beef Industry Conference, you can do so here. If you are a CRSB member please be sure to indicate so on your registration.
